Introduction

Welcome to the Sudanese Community in East London.

The community aims to serve the Sudanese community in East London and strengthen communication, solidarity, and community participation through social, cultural, educational, charitable, and voluntary activities, in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable in the United Kingdom and the principles of responsible charitable and voluntary work.

By using the community’s services, registering for its activities, participating in its programs, or accessing its digital platforms, the member, beneficiary, volunteer, or visitor acknowledges that they have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to comply with them.

Nature of the Community

The community operates within the legal and regulatory framework applicable in the United Kingdom and aims to serve the community as a non-profit organization, in accordance with its constitution, approved objectives, and the decisions of its authorized governing bodies.

The name, logo, platforms, or resources of the community must not be used for personal, commercial, political, or any other purposes that conflict with its objectives or governing principles.

Membership

Membership is subject to the registration requirements and procedures approved by the community.

Applicants for membership must provide accurate and truthful information and take personal responsibility for its accuracy, while updating such information whenever necessary.

Membership or the status of being a community member must not be used to promote personal or commercial interests, collect funds, or gather members’ data without official written authorization from the Sudanese Community in East London.

The community reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership in cases where a serious violation of these Terms, the constitution, or applicable laws is proven, while ensuring fairness and following the approved internal procedures.

Participation in Activities and Events

The community organizes various activities and events according to its available resources and capabilities. The Executive Committee reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or delay any activity or event based on its vision, planning considerations, or any new circumstances that may arise at the time.

Some activities may require prior registration, payment of specific fees, or compliance with special conditions related to the venue or activity requirements.

The community reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any event due to organizational, security, legal reasons, or circumstances beyond its control, while making reasonable efforts to inform participants.

Code of Conduct

All members, volunteers, beneficiaries, and visitors are expected to act with respect and responsibility.

The following are not permitted within the community’s activities or platforms:

  • Abuse, threats, harassment, or bullying.

  • Hate speech or discrimination.

  • Sharing others’ personal information without a lawful basis or appropriate permission.

  • Impersonating another person.

  • Using the community’s platforms to publish illegal or offensive content.

  • Using the community’s name or logo without authorization.

  • Collecting funds or donations on behalf of the community without official approval.

  • Any behavior that may put children, vulnerable adults, or any other member at risk.

All members, volunteers, beneficiaries, and visitors are expected to interact with respect and responsibility.

Protection of Children and Vulnerable Individuals

The community is committed to implementing appropriate measures to protect children and vulnerable adults participating in its activities.

Volunteers and staff involved in activities that include children or vulnerable individuals must comply with the community’s approved safeguarding procedures, as well as any applicable legal or regulatory requirements.

No volunteer or member may use their position within the community to establish an inappropriate or exploitative relationship with a beneficiary, child, or vulnerable person.

Privacy and Data Protection

The community respects the privacy of its members, volunteers, beneficiaries, and visitors.

Personal information is collected, used, and stored in accordance with the community’s approved Privacy and Data Protection Policy and relevant UK data protection laws.

By using the community’s services, certain necessary information may be processed for managing memberships, activities, or services, and this is carried out based on an appropriate lawful basis.

Photography and Media Coverage

No member or volunteer may publish photos or recordings of others in a way that causes harm, reveals personal information, or puts them at risk.

The community may provide a website, social media pages, or community communication groups.

These platforms must be used in a responsible, respectful, and lawful manner.

The community reserves the right to remove any content that violates usage guidelines or puts individuals or the community at risk, and to take appropriate action against accounts or members who repeatedly violate these rules.

Published Information

The community makes reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of the information it publishes; however, some information may change due to circumstances beyond its control.
